Welcome to Beaux Art Co.

BYRON BAY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Hey!
I’m Levi Caleb Allan.

I spend most of the year photographing seriously awesome couples on their wedding day in all sorts of incredible locations, on a mix of analog and digital.

My philosophy: It’s a lot easier to have fun with someone you are comfortable around who is your friend than it is someone you’ve never really met before.

Before the wedding, I put a lot of effort into creating a relationship with you guys that supersedes the idea of me just being a vendor. I’m your best friend! Because it’s super easy to have fun with your best friend. We’re gonna be joking around having a laugh, running around being silly, just being a bunch of goofs creating epic art together.

I’m super down to make things work within your preferred timelines when it comes to photos, too! If you guys only want 30 minutes for photos then that’s totally fine, if you want three hours for photos then lets friggin’ do this! My point is I can work within your schedule and if you are more comfortable with getting them done sooner than later or would prefer a little bit more time for creative freedom and photo-taking, you’re guaranteed a good time.

The man behind the brand:

A SUPER AUSSIE BLOKE WHO JUST WANTS TO BREAK TRADITIONS.

The last 15 years of my life have been fairly nomadic, I lived in a van for most of 2018 travelling up and down the east coast photographing weddings on the weekends and hitting the surf lineups during the week.

I find a lot of joy & passion in living minimally and frothing out over the simple things.

A campfire under the stars and the feeling sunkissed with a hint of ocean saltiness will keep my engine turning for decades.

I’ve been shooting film for five years. Analog all the way baby!!

I love the nostalgia of portraits from the 70s and the warmth that came with images 50 years ago — my current style is heavily inspired by colours and tonality from when your parents were discovering photography. Those times were timeless.

Beaux Art Co. is a faith-founded business fuelled by passion and feeling.

This brand is my eloquence of documenting real laughs and genuine connection between two people – the moments you can’t ‘pretend’.

My vision and purpose as a photographer have roots that grip to something much deeper than a desire to capture a pretty picture. It’s not just about the aesthetics, it’s about raw passion and warm stories.

  • Heck yeah! My days are usually spent checking the surf cams and watering my plants. I’ve recently installed a vertical herb garden in the backyard which has been providing delicious goods. I’m a follower of Christ, I froth the outdoors and have nearly died on numerous occasions in multiple countries doing stupid hikes without proper preparation (that’s me, lol).

In my downtime, I enjoy fixing and repairing and restoring old film cameras which pair well with my love for antiquity and photography.

  • I just love being a part of the fun! You get to witness the best day in a couples journey together, multiple times a year, year after year – it’s flipping awesome! Not many other careers allow you to play such a massive part in other people‘s lives as they move forward in their story to become a unique family.

  • I have a lot of fun during the couple portraits after the ceremony, one of my favourite parts of the day to shoot however is the reception. By that point, everyone’s had a few beers and is feeling a little bit looser and is ready to party. I will usually have a beer with everyone else and jump on the danceflooR

I WANT TO CAPTURE AAAALL OF IT..

The messy, the crazy, the raw, the moments you’re there for and the ones you’re not.

I want to capture your dad smooching you on the cheek as he sheds a tear, your hair blowing in the wind as you read your vows to your best friend, the mud staining your white dress as we adventure and explore for those ripper sunset shots.

I’M HERE TO CAPTURE THE BIG MOMENTS AND THE LITTLE ONES.

  • Everyone’s a photographer nowadays, but being an entertaining addition to you and your people, now that’s a harder find. The technical aspect of capturing moments with the right camera settings and good light is like learning to walk, every photographer knows that stuff.

I enjoy unleashing the inner Aussie bloke persona and dancing around like we’re at bush-doofing under a full moon. A lot of my couples call me the Honey Badger’s cousin.

  • Communication with your photographer is like handing them the keys to a new car, it makes things go a lot further than without. What’s your wedding theme/style inspiration? What time are you planning your ceremony? Communication is key!

  • Haha I have a few of these! Let’s raffle them off in no particular order:

    1. The moment your dad sees you in the dress for the first time is pretty special and usually accompanied by a tsunami of tears and joy

    2. The moment your soon to be husband finally sees you walking down the aisle towards him looking the best you’ve ever looked – now THAT’S a ripper shot!

    3. Finding a rustic corner or beautiful forest backdrop to be silly share some laughs with you and your bride tribe, popping the shamps’ and acting a muck. These moments are everything and are definitely some of my favourite memories to capture.

    4. Running around a field or paddock with you guys at golden hour, capturing your dress flowing in the wind and the creamy AF light catching your face as you guys slow dance in the breeze. WHOA.

    5. Your grandparents getting rowdy at the reception! Yo! Some old cats can really boogie, holy moly.

I ONLY SHOOT THIRTY WEDDINGS A YEAR.

NATURAL & UNPOSED

One of my favourite directions to give a couple is to get the bride and groom in an intimate position and then tell the groom to whisper in the brides ear his favourite vegetable, and how he cooks it and eats it, BUT IN A REALLY OLD DUDES SEDUCTIVE VOICE.

If you can stop and imagine your soulmate whispering ‘beans and corn’ into your ear like he’s Hugh Hefner, 10/10 times you'll both crack into tears at how weird that sounds!

The beautiful thing about freezing moments in time is when you look at the photo, you don't have any idea what was said or done in the moment, all you can see is the genuine tears of joy and laughter you guys are sharing.

CONNECTION & CONFIDENCE

I focus almost all of my effort on creating a relationship with my couples before anything else.

My whole vibe is that I'm your best friend who just happens to have a camera.

I'm not a vendor and you're not my client, we're best friends! It makes the world of a difference, you’ll see what I mean.

STOP LIVING BY TRADITIONS

I’m aaaaaall for breaking the usual stigma of what a wedding ‘should be’. Heck, let’s run through the mud and dance in the rain, climb a mountain for a single photo, ride mopeds around the property, WHATEVER YOU WANT!

It’s your day, it shouldn’t have to follow a template someone else thinks you should follow.
